German Power Bank or Imported? What Actually Changes at Checkout

We sell two things for staying powered away from a socket: one large power bank and one folding solar panel. Both ship across the EU. Here is what they are, what they cost, and when they arrive.

What we sell

Product Key specifications Price
Ifory 40,000mAh Power Bank 154.4 Wh · 100W USB-C output · 2× USB-C, 2× USB-A · PD3.0, PPS, QC3.0 · waterproof and dustproof €99
Portable Solar Panel PD 40W (21.88V / 2.19A) · folding · charges the power bank directly by USB-C €89

That is the whole range. We do not sell a 10,000mAh pocket model or a power bank with a solar cell glued to the case — for the second one there is a reason.

A straight answer about “made in Germany”

People searching for a power bank in Germany often mean one manufactured in Germany. We do not claim that, because it would not be true. Ifory is sold into the European market, ships within the EU with no customs to pay, and is supported from here — but if a German-made cell is specifically what you are after, buy from a German manufacturer instead. You will find several, and they will tell you so plainly on their own pages.

What we will stand behind is the specification: 154.4 Wh and 100 watts is at the top of what a portable bank does, and the numbers on this page are the ones printed on the device.

German Brands vs Imported Power Banks

German-made power banks tend to advertise that origin clearly on their own product pages, since it is a selling point buyers actively search for. Imported banks sold into the EU, including ours, do not carry that claim and should not fake it.

What both share, regardless of origin, is CE marking, the region-specific compliance mark required for electronics sold within the EU. Beyond that, differences come down to buyer perception:

  • Local support: a German manufacturer may offer support in German as a default, not an added service.
  • Labeling clarity: brands proud of German manufacture tend to state it prominently, so its absence is itself informative.
  • Quality perception: some buyers associate domestic manufacture with tighter oversight, though CE marking applies either way.

Is 40,000mAh the right size for you?

Often it is not, and it is worth knowing before you spend €99.

  • Commuting with a phone? A 10,000mAh bank weighs a fraction as much and gives you two full charges. Ours is more than you need.
  • Charging a laptop? This is where it earns its keep. 100W over USB-C runs most laptops while you work; an 18W bank cannot.
  • Days away from a socket? Pair it with the 40W panel and you can refill it in an afternoon of sun rather than carrying a second bank.
  • Flying? At 154.4 Wh it sits in the 101–160 Wh band, so it needs your airline’s approval in advance and counts as one of two larger batteries you may carry. The full rules are here.

Power Bank Regulations in Germany and the EU

Power banks travel as carry-on baggage across the EU, Germany included, never in checked luggage. The limit that matters is Watt-hours (Wh), not mAh.

  • Under 100Wh: generally accepted without special airline approval.
  • 100Wh to 160Wh: needs prior airline approval, and you’re typically capped at two such batteries.
  • Over 160Wh: not permitted as carry-on with most carriers.

Airlines also expect the Wh rating printed on the device itself, so an unmarked or illegible label can get a power bank refused at the gate regardless of its actual capacity. Check the full airline rules before you fly.

Common questions

How long does delivery to Germany take?

Orders are processed in 1–2 business days, and EU delivery normally takes 3–5 days after that. You get a tracking number by email when it ships, active within 24 hours.

Will I pay customs or import duty?

Not on an order delivered within the EU. The price you see at checkout, plus the flat shipping fee, is what you pay.

Can I send it back?

Yes, within 30 days of receiving it, in line with European consumer protection law. Email support@ifory.eu with your order number to start a return and you will be sent an authorisation number and instructions.

Is the Ifory power bank made in Germany?

No. It is sold and supported in the European market and ships within the EU with no customs charges, but we make no claim about German manufacture. If that is your requirement, buy from a German manufacturer.

Can it charge a laptop?

Yes. The USB-C port delivers up to 100W, which covers most laptops including larger models, and it supports PD3.0 and PPS so the laptop can negotiate full speed rather than trickling.
